Hartes of Kildare was opened in 2009 by Paul Lenehan and Ronan Kinsella, who also own The Ballymore Inn in Ballymore Eustace, The Dew Drop Inn in Kill, and Firecastle Artisan Grocers & Café in Kildare Town.

With over 40 years’ combined experience, Paul and Ronan first met while working on the opening team of the Millrace Hotel in Bunclody. In 2005, driven by a shared passion for hospitality, they went into business together—a partnership that became family when Ronan married Paul’s sister.

With seven children between them, family is at the core of everything they do. Nearly 20 years on, they continue to innovate—expanding their craft beer range, developing ready meals, and fostering a rewarding workplace while delivering memorable dining experiences.
